« Volunteering at Monte Vista Retreat Center can be just a break from your life or it can be the beginning of an amazing journey to find aspects of yourself and life that you didn’t even know existed ».

Monte Vista offers volunteer programs as an opportunity to live in an open and healing environment surrounded by exquisite nature in a small international community alongside the owners and other supportive staff who are working together in service to others. As you learn to work with the attitude of helping others, you will uncover your own inner wisdom and unconditional love for yourself and those around you. Take the time to find the freedom promised in selfless service and you will find meaning and purpose in the work that you do, not only here at Monte Vista, but for the rest of your life.

Your working areas will be everything from project work arround the property to kitchen assistance and cleaning and support of the retreat guest programs. Your work time is about 6 hours per day, leaving you plenty of leisure time to go swimming, hiking, shopping, getting Thai massages, and much more. Two days per week you will be off to discover this amazing island which boasts kilometers of beautiful  sandy beaches and an abundance of outdoor activities.

Our volunteers bring an array of talents and skills to our Center that we deeply appreciate. The many retreatants who come here on programs all benefit directly or indirectly from any service you generously offer.

You are welcome to join our daily morning yoga classes and thereby set a nice tone for your day. The owners and the staff are willing to support you in your personal growth. For volunteers who stay with us more than 3 months, there is a point system which accumulates credit that you can exchange for certain sessions or programs. For example : if you stay with us for 3 months you become eligible to get initiated into Reiki I.

The Volunteer Program includes room & board. Our minimum program starts with 2 weeks and can be as long as 6 months. To make the coordination with other volunteers easier, please let us know in advance how long you would like to volunteer for.
